Prosecutors in South Korea said they charged the parliament speaker and two others with bribery in a scandal that caused the speaker to resign his seat.
The charges were brought against Park Hee-Tae, one of his aides and Kim Hyo-Jae, a former senior presidential aide, but they were not detained, AFP reported.

The scandal, which allegedly involved the arrangement for cash-filled envelopes to be delivered to lawmakers picking a party chief in 2008, rocked the ruling party. Park won that 2008 vote.
Kim and the aide are accused of helping Park distribute bribes. None of them appear to have been contacted for comment by AFP.
Park resigned earlier this month but denied wrongdoing; he continues to hold the position until a successor is named.
