The U.S. Navy has censured three of its admirals as punishment in what’s been dubbed the Glenn Defense Marine Asia bribery and corruption scandal.

Secretary Ray Mabus sent each of the flag officers — Rear Adms. Mike Miller, Terry Kraft and David Pimpo — letters of censure over their conduct during the six-month deployment of the aircraft career Ronald Reagan, beginning January 2006, Defense News reported.

The three “were found to have improperly accepted gifts from a prohibited source, two were found to have improperly endorsed a commercial business and one engaged in solicitation of gifts and services from a prohibited source, when they were deployed to the Seventh Fleet area of responsibility during the 2006-2007 timeframe,” the Navy said in a statement, Defense News reported.

Naval officials found that the three “violated the Standars of Ethical Conduct, U.S. Navy regulations and/or the Joint Ethics Regulation, demonstrating poor judgment and a failure of leadership,” the news outlet said.
