Regional general manager of Amravati Division, Mahatma Phule Backward Class Development Corporation, Prakash Dange has been made an accused in a bribery case, the ACB sources said. He has been reported absconding.
Samson Jadhav, manager of District unit (Akola), Dhanwanth Athwale, personal assistant of Dange, and Mangesh Ingle, Jadhav’s driver were arrested for accepting a bribe of Rs1.90 lakh to release loans to the needy. The trio have been remanded to judicial custody after their PCR expired on Thursday.
Total 120 loan cases had to be expedited. For this, the accused had demanded a bribe of Rs1,95,000 from the beneficiaries. The complainant had approached the ACB Akola, which laid a successful trap and arrested the trio two days ago, the ACB sources said.
