A metro police officer has been arrested for allegedly soliciting a bribe from a truck driver in Protea Glen in Soweto.
Police say the officer took the truck license disk and then demanded money from the driver in return for the disk.
The driver then drove to the nearest police station and informed officers and a trap was set.
The metro police officer was arrested last night.
The police’s Kay Makhubela says, “They took out the disk from the car and later he told the man that he must bring the money so that he can take back his disk. The man went to the police and the trap was set, so was arrested.”
