Two Baltimore postal workers have been arrested and face charges of bribery. According to court documents, Richard Wright, 37, of Essex, Kimberly Parnell, 43, of Gwynn Oak, and Shane Anderson, 37, of Windsor Mill, have been charged with bribery.
Court documents say Wright was engaged in a bribery, mail and wire fraud scheme from October 2007 to the present, using his position as station master of the Waverly Post Office in Baltimore to approve false invoices for payment by the USPS and then divide the proceeds with other members of the scheme.
Court documents said Parnell did the same from October 2010 to the present using her position as station master of the Pikesville Post Office in Baltimore to approve false invoices for payment by USPS and then divide the proceeds with other members of the scheme.
Court documents charge that from July to the present Anderson engaged in bribery, mail and wire fraud with Wright and Parnell.
The defendants were arrested Tuesday and appeared before a judge in U.S. District Court in Baltimore.
If convicted, they face a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison. The case was jointly investigated by the U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Oct. 29.
