An Oregon woman faces three counts of bribing law enforcement and disorderly conduct after she allegedly offered sexual favors, hoping the deputy who arrested her and two corrections deputies who booked her into jail might release her from custody, Coos County sheriff’s officials say.
According to The Eugene Register-Guard, 50-year-old Janet M. LaGasse was arrested Tuesday after a sheriff’s deputy and an Oregon State Police trooper responded to reports of a disturbance at a home on Dover Road in the Coos Bay area around 8:15 p.m.
A 52-year-old man at the home told authorities that he had met LaGasse on Monday and let her stay with him, officials said.
The man claimed LaGasse then became agitated and argumentative when she refused to leave his home, sheriff’s officials said.
KPIC.com reported that the officers found LaGasse at a nearby chicken coop by following “her vulgar yelling” and arresting her on a charge of disorderly conduct, the sheriff’s office said.
She was later charged with bribe giving after she offered sexual favors to three deputies in exchange for her release.
LaGasse was being held Wednesday in county jail.
