Technical staff of the Faisalabad Electric Supply Company on Thursday observed a tool-down strike against the arrest of five Fesco officers by the FIA on corruption charges.
The protesting staff did not attend any complaint, except a few urgent one. The technical, non-technical and other employees of the Fesco decided to completely lock the Fesco Headquarters today (Friday). They also decided to block Canal Road in front of the Fesco Headquarters today. They warned of extending their agitation to all eight districts under the Fesco if the arrested officers were not released immediately.
Meanwhile, the Fesco Officers Association criticised the arrest of the five officers on the charges of supplying electricity to a Khurrianwala mill without seeking proper sanction from the competent authorities. They warned of suspending power supply to all eight districts under the Fesco.
Meanwhile, a three-day physical remand of Chief Engineer Zafar Abbas Bokhari, Executive Engineers Abdur Rehman and Akbar Randhawa, SDO Imtiaz Ahmad and Line Superintendent Muhammad Naveed will end today and the FIA will produce them in a court to get their further remand.
