The man at the center of a bribery investigation at the Bexar County Courthouse pleaded guilty Monday to federal bribery charges.
San Antonio attorney Alberto Acevedo, Jr. appeared in federal court Monday morning.
Acevedo admitted to giving a state court judge things of value totaling more than $6,600 sometime between March 2013 and December 2013. Some of the items included cash and car repairs.
While Monday’s federal proceedings did not officially name the judge, Judge Angus McGinty resigned last month amid the allegations.
Acevedo faces up to ten years in prison. He will be released on bond pending a sentencing date set for mid-June.
