In the past 48 hours, the state Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) trapped nine government servants, of which a majority are from the revenue department, followed by the police department and an engineer (Class I official) from Wardha.
Executive engineer Sudhir Zodape of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana was nabbed by ACB’s Wardha unit for accepting a bribe of `18,000 from the complainant. The bribe was a commission to continue the rent contract for two vehicles owned by the complainant.
The Nanded unit registered a bribe case against Shaikh Ebrahim Shaikh Pasha (50), a Talathi Sajja Kasarkheda (class-III) for demanding a bribe of `3,000 from the complainant for issuing a payment of Aam Aadmi insurance to his mother because her father died in an accident.
Assistant police inspector (API) Rajendra Hulawale (45) posted at Murbad police station in Navi Mumbai was caught accepting a bribe of `50,000 from the complainant in return for not extending his cousin’s police custody and to help further to loosen the case. The complainant’s cousin was arrested by Hulawale.
At Jalna, Anil Sagat (25), an election operator (appointed by SETU) working in the tehsil office in Badanapur was caught while demanding and accepting a bribe of `500 from the complainant for giving him a corrected copy of the complainant’s father’s election card.At Dhule, Sharad Khonde, a junior clerk at Bhausaheb Hire Medical College was caught taking a bribe of `4,000 for putting before the dean a relieving transfer file. At Jalgaon, a policeman posted in a jail was caught taking `300 from the complainant for permission to meet her husband who is in Jalgaon jail for the past two months.
At Nashik, Vinod Kakad (45), a circle officer of the revenue department in Dugaon, Chandwad was caught taking a bribe of `10,000 for forwarding the report of the complainant’s application regarding NA land.At Sangli, Shivaji Patil (39) a clerk of MSEDCL in Islampur division 2 was caught taking `1,000 for reducing the bill of motor pump of the complainant. At Bhandara, accused Sushama Gabhane, sarpanch of Pimpalgao, and her husband Sridhar Gabhane were caught for taking `10,000 from a complainant for passing of the pipeline contract bill.
