A policeman was charged with five counts of accepting bribes of RM100 (S$37) to RM700 from an Indonesian woman last year.
Kons Muhammad Shaparin Sulaiman, 24, from Jalan Paya Terubong in Air Itam, who is attached with the Air Itam police station, claimed trial to all the five charges under the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Act (MACC) 2009.
On the first charge, he denied asking for RM700 from Indonesian Lestari Budiharto as an inducement for not taking action against the latter who did not have any valid travel documents at the Air Itam police station on Oct 11, last year.
He was also accused of agreeing to accept money from Lestari at other times and locations, including Penang Hill.
Sessions judge Sitarun Nisa Abdul Aziz fixed March 23 for mention.
